Project Description: My Cup of Tea is a Taiwanese boba shop based in San Francisco's Merced Manor District. We rebranded this café to appeal their target audience, which are high school & college students and those who want a spot to play board games.

The Research

Research

We first went to My Cup of Tea to get a feeling of the environment. We wanted to see who was the target audience, what aspects of the brand needing some improvement & the style of the cafe.

Inspiration

Rebranding of My Cup of Tea was inspired by researching on local cafés in Taraval Street & kawaii (cute) aesthetic. Some examples that we wanted to match the cute aesthetic included: animals, maximalist simple aesthetic & doodles.

The Process

Sketches

Sketches were first based on the cafe's environment. As time went on, we transformed a few sketches into logo sketches! Most of these were based on the cute aesthetic that My Cup of Tea was giving.

Logo Iterations

Logos were inspired by cafe or boba shop logos. We wanted to explore both cute and minimalist aesthetic!

Colored Logo Development

After receiving feedback from multiple peers + myself, we chose a bunny icon! We explored mulitple color options using color theory to pick which ones were the best.
